It's reasonably priced, efficient, flexible and fast." - Andy Gabor, QP2 user   Andy Gabor is part of a group that's given us invaluable help in developing QP2: our customers. Thanks to our testing groups, customer calls, and users' forums, we've been able to tailor QP2 to the needs of investors. Because Andy is one of our "power users", we asked him to give us a user's perspective on how QP2 fits into his trading program. I really enjoy using QP2. Each night, I download the end-of-day information from the Quotes Plus internet site. I simply click the button on my desktop and the program downloads the day's data. Error corrections, fundamental data, and industry group information are automatically received into my database. I never have to worry about splits or name changes as QP does that for me. After the download is complete, I run my favorite scans. The scanning program is extremely flexible. With the help of Quotes Plus customer service, an online help file and a highly knowledgeable user group, I can scan and find most anything. I tend to track stocks with volume levels greater than 300,000 shares per day. So I run a basic scan to filter these stocks into a database of about 750 stocks. I also create a second database of smaller cap stocks for review. The scans are fast, and I've made these two part of the same "profile" so they run simultaneously. Next, I run my stock picking scans. I tend to look for stocks which have been basing and have just made a move out. I use about 6 different technical criteria in each scan to get exactly what I want. The results provide about 5 to 10 picks per scan each night. QP2 creates both a list file and a virtual metastock file from the output. I then use the QP2 chart program to review the list file. The charting program lets me configure up to nine different ways to view the chart, including weekly and daily views.. I can click on the nine screens one by one to see the stock from many different angles. After eliminating some picks through this review, I use two other charting programs (Window on Wall Street and Advanced GET) to further analyses the picks. With QP2's virtual Metastock feature, I can instantaneously see the QP2 data in these Metastock-compatible applications. If all goes according to plan I have 3 or 4 buys for the morning. All in all QP2 has become a key part of my trading strategy. I recommend it for anyone. --Andy Gabor
